Zapbar Privacy Policy

Effective 27 October 2026. Zapbar is made by pohstep.

The short version. Zapbar does not collect, store or send any personal data to us or anyone else. It talks only to your TV, over your home network.

What Zapbar does. Zapbar is a menu bar remote for your TV. It finds your TV on your local network and sends it commands: buttons, volume, apps, inputs, power, and the text, links and files you choose to send.

What stays on your Mac.

• Your saved TVs and settings are stored on your Mac.
• The key your TV uses for pairing is stored in your macOS keychain.
• TV screenshots you take are copied to your clipboard or saved to a folder you pick. They never leave your Mac.
• Text you type for the TV is sent to the TV and is never logged or saved by Zapbar.

What Zapbar does not do.

• No account, no sign-in.
• No analytics, no telemetry, no advertising, no tracking.
• No cloud service and no server of ours. Nothing is uploaded.
• No microphone, camera, contacts, location or photos.
• No data is shared with third parties, because none is collected.

Network use. Zapbar uses your local network only, to reach your TV. If you send a web link, the TV opens it with its own browser; that connection is made by the TV, not by Zapbar.

Local Network permission. macOS asks you to allow Local Network access so Zapbar can find and talk to your TV. Zapbar uses it for nothing else.

Removing your data. Quit and delete Zapbar, then delete its keychain items in Keychain Access (search for “pohstep”). No data exists anywhere else.

Children. Zapbar collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes. If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.

Zapbar 做什么。 Zapbar 是放在 Mac 菜单栏里的电视遥控器。它在本地网络里找到你的电视，并向电视发送指令：按键、音量、应用、输入源、电源，以及你主动选择发送的文字、链接和文件。

留在你 Mac 上的内容

• 已保存的电视和设置保存在你的 Mac 上。
• 与电视配对用的密钥保存在 macOS 钥匙串里。
• 你截取的电视画面会复制到剪贴板，或保存到你选的文件夹，不会离开你的 Mac。
• 你为电视输入的文字只发送给电视，Zapbar 不会记录或保存。

Zapbar 不会做的事

• 没有账号，不需要登录。
• 没有统计、遥测、广告或追踪。
• 没有云服务，也没有我们的服务器，不上传任何内容。
• 不使用麦克风、摄像头、通讯录、位置或照片。
• 没有向第三方共享任何数据，因为我们没有收集任何数据。

网络使用。 Zapbar 只使用本地网络，用来连接你的电视。如果你发送网页链接，是电视用自带浏览器打开它，这个连接由电视发起，不是 Zapbar。

本地网络权限。 macOS 会请你允许“本地网络”访问，Zapbar 才能找到并连接电视。Zapbar 不会把它用于其他用途。

删除数据。 退出并删除 Zapbar，再到“钥匙串访问”搜索“pohstep”，删除它的钥匙串项目即可。其他地方没有任何数据。

儿童。 Zapbar 不收集任何人的数据，包括儿童。

政策变更。 如有变更，会在此页发布新版本并更新日期。
